I remember the first time I saw these plants. At first, I said "How cute" but then I touched the leaves and I was awestruck! The String of Turtles plant looks exactly as its common name describes. A string... of turtles. Their succulent leaves have an almost translucent layered look, with turtle shell-like patterns underneath. I can't help from slightly pinching the leaves whenever I get a chance, they're just so juicy!

These peperomia don't need to be repotted frequently as they have quite shallow root systems. You would want to be careful about potting them in too large a pot as this can cause the soil to stay too damp. See the water requirements below.

Pet lovers will be happy to know that these plants are non-toxic. But please don't let cute little Roscoe nibble these beautiful leaves!

Note: Plants are unique! The plant pictured is meant to give you an idea of the specification and quality of the plant you will receive, but will not be an exact replica.

Light Requirements

Medium - Bright

In its natural habitat, this plant is often shaded by taller plants/trees. Therefore, medium to bright indirect light is best. Direct light is too intense, and can cause burning and fading of leaves. This plant can also grow under fluorescent lighting, and is fine for the office.

Water Requirements

Low to Moderate

The String of Turtles is susceptible to overwatering, due to its delicate root system. It is better to err on the side of caution. Like many succulent-type plants, water your Peperomia prostrata sparingly, especially in the winter. I usually wait for the soil to dry out between waterings. In the summer, the plant can withstand a bit more water. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that is a surefire way to root rot.

Cutest little turtle

The cutest little turtle plant, happy how full it is for such a small pot. I chose the smallest one available. Very happy with this purchase. As of today she's thriving very well and still looks healthy. Hasn't finished the shock period but so far so good! Got the plants on Friday, it's now Sunday evening.

Very Happy

This was my first time ordering, and I was eagerly waiting the arrival of this little plant. After searching high and low, I have to thank you for helping me have my dream plant! Not only did it come in healthy condition, but there was also another little surprise added in. Both plants are doing amazingly! Thank you so so much! I'm very impressed!

In love

I have been wanting a string of turtles for a little while now and I’m just so in love. The price was reasonable for the size.
The vines came a bit tangled but nothing major. I appreciate the low carbon footprint in packaging but it was a bit y messy unwrapping everything

Such a cute photo Dianna! And thanks for the feedback! We do try to keep a low carbon footprint for our packaging, but we will continue to take extra care to keep the soil contained with our crinkle paper.
