This stunning beauty is another reason why our plant shop is called The Painted Leaf. This Begonia is similar to the Begonia maculata, but with pink dots instead of silver. This is the Christian Louboutin of houseplants, with a vibrant, dark red underside. And best of all? This plant isn't difficult to care for, and does not need intense light. See the water and light requirements below. If you have never owned a begonia, the new growth is so cute! Perhaps you can give these beauties a try!

Light Requirements

Variable

This plant prefers medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate lower light as well. In light that is too low, however, it most likely will give a leggier appearance. However, it is important to not expose this plant to direct light as the leaves are prone to burning. Rotate your plant regularly to keep the even shape.

Water Requirements

Moderate

The Begonia maculata ideally likes a consistently moist (not consistently wet) environment. It would do well with watering a bit at a time once you notice that the top few inches of soil are starting to dry out. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that can cause root rot.

Adorable

I was quite surprised the plant was taller than I thought it would be.
It's beautiful burgundy frilly leaves with soft pink polka dots sets this plant apart from many.
As always plant was delivered healthy and in excellent spirits.

It was a my first absolutely positive experience here!

I'm absolutely happy with the quality of my 3 begonia plants: they are healthy and really big for 6" pot. They were packed very well and delivered to toronto eria fast and safely over one night on November 23, when outside temperature was +6 C.
