Alocasia zebrina
Another Alocasia! The Alocasia zebrina is another one to add to your Alocasia collection. Despite its understated, angular, green leaves, its stems are the show stoppers here! WOW. The zebrina name comes from its zebra-like stems: light yellow stems with dark-coloured stripes throughout.
Like most Alocasia species, this one has specific care requirements that you can read about in the following tabs.
These are toxic to pets, so be careful with your furry friends.

Light Requirements
Light Requirements
Bright
This plant thrives in bright indirect light, but multiple hours of direct sun may burn its leaves. Alocasias do not tolerate lower light conditions well, so you may need to supplement your natural light with a grow light.
Water Requirements
Water Requirements
Low to Moderate
This Alocasia, like most Alocasias, like to dry out between waterings. If the top of the soil looks dry, make sure you check beneath the surface before watering, as Alocasia do not like too much water. However, this plant likes higher humidity than the average houseplant. If you have a humidifier, put the plant as close as possible. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that can cause root rot.
