Alocasia reginula - Black Velvet
One of the "Jewel Alocasias": a group of Alocasias with very short stems and highly textured leaves. The Alocasia Black Velvet is well named, Its VERY dark green leaves look black, and is a good contrast to its cream veining running throughout each leaf. And let's talk about the texture! The leaves are very sturdy, with tiny ridges all over. Like most Alocasia species, this one has specific care requirements that you can read about in the following tabs.
These are toxic to pets, so be careful with your furry friends.

Light Requirements
Light Requirements
Bright
This plant thrives in bright indirect light, but multiple hours of direct sun may burn its leaves. Alocasias do not tolerate lower light conditions well, so you may need to supplement your natural light with a grow light.
Water Requirements
Water Requirements
Low to Moderate
The AlocasiaBlack Velvet, like most Alocasias, like to dry out between waterings. If the top of the soil looks dry, make sure you check beneath the surface before watering, as Alocasia do not like too much water. However, this plant likes higher humidity than the average houseplant. If you have a humidifier, put the plant as close as possible. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that can cause root rot.
all plants received were very well packed and they are amazingly
This plant came id well worth the price. The leaves were beautiful and big for the price compared to my local sellers here in Calgary.
We're so happy to hear this Marie France! We hope to be able to send you some more plants soon :)
