One of the darker coloured Alocasia leaves, the Alocasia reginae dark Miri has spear-like leaves, and shorter stems. They have the classic textured, slightly puffy leaves that we love about Alocasias. Like most Alocasia species, this one has specific care requirements that you can read about in the following tabs.

Light Requirements

Bright

This plant thrives in bright indirect light, but multiple hours of direct sun may burn its leaves. Alocasias do not tolerate lower light conditions well, so you may need to supplement your natural light with a grow light.

Water Requirements

Low to Moderate

Like most Alocasias, this plant likes to dry out between waterings. If the top of the soil looks dry, make sure you check beneath the surface before watering, as Alocasia do not like too much water. However, this plant likes higher humidity than the average houseplant. If you have a humidifier, put the plant as close as possible. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that can cause root rot.
