Who doesn't love striped Calatheas? Well this one lives up to its name. It's MAJESTIC! Looking closely at each leaf, you will notice these beautifully imperfect "painted" cream stripes on either side of the midrib, with an added pink hue on the leaves. It looks like an artist's masterpiece.

These are a part of the Prayer plant family, and move their leaves up and down "in prayer" throughout the day. It is awesome to see their leaves in different positions in the morning and at night! These plants can be difficult to get the hang of, so be sure to read the water and light requirements in the other tabs!

Pet lovers will be happy to know that these plants are non-toxic. But please don't let cute little Midnight nibble these beautiful leaves!

Note: Plants are unique! The plant pictured is meant to give you an idea of the specification and quality of the plant you will receive, but will not be an exact replica.

Light Requirements

Indirect

Direct light is a no-no, as it can cause burning of the leaves. Medium- bright indirect light is best, but they can also tolerate lower light. In its natural habitat, this plant is often shaded by taller plants/trees.

Water Requirements

Moderate

Calathea plants like to be consistently moist (not wet!). If the plant dries out too much, then it can result in pests. I like to give these plants a bit of water frequently, as opposed to drenching them and allowing them to dry out. Important: These plants tend to be sensitive to water with chemicals and minerals. Tap water may cause these plants to get brown tips. If possible, water your plant with rain water, filtered water or water that has been standing for at least 24 hours. It is also important to water them with room temperature water. Try not to get water on their leaves as this can result in fungal issues. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that can cause root rot.
