Another species in the Geogenanthus genus. The Geogenanthus poeppigii is commonly called the Seersucker plant due to the ridges on the leaf that mimic seersucker fabric oh so well. The leaves are smaller in size than its cousin the Geogenanthus ciliatus. But one common feature is the dark red underside of the leaf. A pop of colour! This unique plant can't be mistaken for any other. These plants tend to be lower-growing plants commonly found as ground cover in a jungle.

Pay special attention to their water and light requirements, so that you can keep this plant happy.

Pet lovers will be happy to know that these plants are non-toxic. But please don't let cute little Bailey nibble these beautiful leaves!

Note: Plants are unique! The plant pictured is meant to give you an idea of the specification and quality of the plant you will receive, but will not be an exact replica.

Light Requirements

Low

People with lower light settings will be happy to know that this plant actually prefers lower light settings. Direct light is a no-no, and this plant does well in lower light or artificial light settings. In its natural habitat, this plant is often shaded by taller plants/trees.

Water Requirements

High

These plants like to be consistently moist. High humidity is also greatly appreciated. This plant would be perfect for a terrarium, or a spot right next to the humidifier. We like to give these plants a bit of water frequently as soon as the soil starts to look dry, as opposed to drenching them and allowing them to dry out. Note: Be sure not to let the plant sit in pooled water as that can cause root rot.
